Hello Guys!
After our amazing citytrip to our Northern neighbours we are planning another daytrip to Cologne!
We will be visiting the famous Christmas market which is spread over more than six squares in the centre. It's tempting to start at the Cathedral market, with its 160 stalls clustered around the skirts of the blackly awesome dom, but you need to start smaller to get the hang of things. Five minutes away, in the Old Town, is the postcard-pretty Alter Markt: cobbled square, rustic wooden stalls, trees hung with red hearts. Look carefully and you might spy the gnomes peeping over the stall roofs watching the goings-on
You can find in this colourful market more than glüwein, there are great places to stock up on Christmas presents!
Besides the lovely shopping district, Cologne is a major cultural centre for the Rhineland; it hosts more than 30 museums and hundreds of galleries. Exhibitions range from local ancient Roman archaeological sites to contemporary graphics and sculpture.
